Il 17 Pro ha portato tutte e tre le fotocamere posteriori a 48 megapixel, incluso un nuovo teleobiettivo dedicato con zoom ottico nativo 4x che raggiunge una qualità ottica fino a 8x tramite ritaglio, per un range complessivo di zoom di qualità ottica di 16x.

Dopo due generazioni in titanio, Apple è tornata a una scocca unibody in alluminio di grado aerospaziale, questa volta con una vapor chamber saldata al laser per dissipare il calore durante i carichi di lavoro intensi, insieme al nuovo chip A19 Pro con supporto hardware al ray tracing per i giochi.
